Cool video concept from Ms. Badu.

Departure

“Time for me to leave home, ma, that’s that man… to Manhattan, N-Y-C, yessir that’s rap-land.”

If you’re hip to Rappers I Know, this will be old news. $40 bucks for Mos Def and Jay E – March 30.

Marcatron and myself jump on Skybus tomorrow night. My last trip to NYC in 2006 included the Roots at Radio City Music Hall with special guests Erykah, J*Davey, Mos Def, Dave Chappelle and Jay-Z. But even with those big shoes to fill, I have a feeling this show is going to be that fruit that Gwen sang about.

Now, I’ve lived in this area for 2+ years, and walk by this piece on a daily basis. Continue reading ‘Going on’

Family Business

“It’s in Belgium.”

I can always depend on a good, strange movie I’ve never heard of when I’m home with the parents. We saw In Bruges today, written & directed by Martin McDonagh, and it was brilliant. Inappropriate, funny, suspenseful, well-written movie.
