The older I get, the more I stay the same

Pops and I were just having a little breakfast, and he put a napkin in his collar to protect his fresh white shirt.

Dad tends to leave the table with half the food on his shirt. I said, “At least you know yourself.”

His response was classic: “I do. Sometimes it’s a great acquaintance, and other times it sucks.”

That little Monday morning gem of my trip home was so fitting. And it made me think of this song:
